John Muddeman 11/09/2015 Summary report of a 7-day excursion focussing on the birds of these two fabulous birdwatching areas. Nearly 200 birds species were recorded, including many returning migrants, 20 species of diurnal raptors and a remarkable range of the scarcer and more sought-after species of S and W Spain.

John Muddeman 03/09/2015 A new less intensive and still highly successful version of the previous tour. An average of just one bear watch a day, mostly at dawn, resulted in a fine observation of a big black male on our very first attempt during a very difficult year! A wealth of other sightings included Southern Chamois, 3 Wallcreepers, Western Spectre and 61 species of butterflies, such as the endemic Spanish Argus and Chapman's Ringlet.

John Muddeman 09/02/2015 A short report on a recent 5-day tour to Andújar to search for the critically endangered Iberian Lynx and also some impressive birdwatching both there and en route.

John Muddeman 09/09/2014 A strongly reworked, much less intensive and highly successful version of the previous tour. At a gentler pace we made just one bear watch a day, all but one of these at dawn, resulting in a remarkable final tally of 11 different Brown Bears! A wealth of other sightings included Wild Cat, Southern Chamois, Alpine Accentor and 57 species of butterflies, such as the endemic Chapman's Ringlet.

John Muddeman 05/09/2014 On many a birder's wish list, the Canary Islands are a superb destination. Its combination of endemic bird and other species, plus excellent opportunities of seeing pelagic species from onboard large and stable vessels, this logistically complex trip combining visits to four islands ran even better than hoped!

John Muddeman 06/07/2014 An abbreviated trip report describing the highlights of this highly rewarding 13-day route ranging from incoming migrants at the southernmost tip of Spain to the mountain-dwelling gems of the high Pyrenees in the far north.
