Wind farm threatens Monfragüe National Park raptors and other threatened Extremaduran wildlife

Extremadura's first wind farm has been given the go-ahead, despite being just a few miles from Monfragüe National Park and in a crucial area for threatened raptors.

11-DSCN0086© John MuddemanIncredibly perhaps, the go-ahead has been given for Extremadura's first wind farm, right on the doorstep of the world-renown reserve of Monfragüe National Park, a flagship for the conservation of Mediterranean habitats and such threatened species as Spanish imperial and Bonelli's eagles as well as lesser kestrels.
Please simply click through to theBirds of Extremadura blogspot where more information is provided and a link to the petition to stop this development is present in the "SIGN UP IN DEFENCE OF THE BIRDS OF MONFRAGÜE. " title. This will require joining the petition on the AVAAZ website, but once registered (a simple and quick procedure), you can simply sign up for other petitions of this nature in a few seconds.
