This is the name of the cyber-campaign to try and save this extraordinary region

The Spanish Ornithological Society SEO/BirdLife has launched a 'cyber-campaign' of action to help try and conserve this remarkable area from a series of aggressive and highly destructive threats and developments.
Illegal building in declared reserves, illegal approval of numerous wind farms, a lack of control concerning the location of numerous thermo-solar plants, unecessary and sometimes illegal road modifications and construction and opposition to a planned refinery and several combined cycle powerplants all recieve a rotund NO!
Further details (which will shortly include a version in English) can be consulted on-line and your support to show your concern and rejection of these projects can be made by signing the on-line petition on the first page.
The incredible landscapes in Extremadura are already suffering as a result of the impact, not just of the presence of e.g. wind turbines, but also the (often forgotten) associated infrastructures necessary to service these, such as access tracks and considerable mileage of power lines to take the energy produced to the main grid. And the thermo-solar plants are almost as bad. Perhaps.
