Orchids of the Picos de Europa

This list of the orchids of the Picos de Europa and immediate environs is compiled from 33 published and unpublished sources, as well as from field observations by Teresa Farino since 1985. Taxonomic order and nomenclature follow Castroviejo, S. (2005) Flora Ibérica; Vol. 21. Real Jardín Botánico, CSIC, Madrid. English common names follow Buttler, P. (1991) Field Guide to Orchids of Britain and Europe. The Crowood Press Ltd, Swindon. Most orchids do not have common names in Spanish.

Species marked with an asterisk (*) have not been seen personally by Teresa in the Picos de Europa.
